When it comes to painting and coming up with ideas for them – I love a good challenge. I feel that if I can’t challenge myself and learn something new in the process, it’s not worth doing the project.
This Bar painting was definitely a challenge for me. I wanted to make something that was a little non-descript. The bottle in the artwork could be any type of liquid or liquor. The label on the bottle has a blurred quality to it, so it’s up to the imagination to decide.
The liquid in the glasses gives a little hit with the red and orange and brown quality of the liquor. It could be bourbon, dark rum, or even whiskey.
The hardest part of the whole painting was the glasses. Getting the perspective just right and making sure they both looked the same. I can’t tell you how many times I painted and repainted the outline of the glasses to make sure they were perfect. White and gray paint help make the outline of the glass seem more realistic. This was my first- time painting something that was glass.
