This is one of my favorite flower photos. I found this unique flower while at the Wickham Park in Manchester Connecticut. I have never seen a flower that looked like it was made of sharp jagged edges but is also soft and elegant at the same time. It’s a flower, how can it not be beautiful and soft? There is no editing to this photo. I was able to focus on the one flower in the foreground and slightly fade and blur the other flower. Making the purple stand out even more against the background of the image.
To me, this image completely embodies the spirit of Wickham Park with its unique quality. It has eight different gardens and covers over 250 acres. There is an English Garden, Scottish Garden, Cabin Garden & Amphitheater, the Oriental Garden, the Italian Shrine, Lotus Garden, Wetlands Garden, and Rhododendron Garden. This flower was found near the Lotus Garden.
I try to find the focal point for of my pieces, by either looking for the right angle or using the right effect to make the whole piece come together into the final piece. Even in my own catalog of images, this is called the Purple Flower – there is no other purple flower that makes such a unique statement like this one.
Have you ever seen a flower like this one?
